Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. This calm and gentle process will target the areas that need to be healed while maintaining the body’s natural balance. Reiki can be a very spiritual experience and is undoubtedly the most relaxing and de stressing form of massage.

Distance Healing

Allowing the Reiki energy to flow to a person who is not with you, stretching beyond the limits of time and space, distance healing uses energy to be sent to the client no matter where they are. Distance healing works just as good as if you were having a face to face session. These sessions are conducted via Whatsapp, FaceTime or Telephone lasting approximately 30 minutes and will include a Youtube video download to give you a fully immersive experience.

Reiki treatment to reduce stress

It is important to note that Reiki is not just for healing, just like we visit the gym to keep our bodies fit on the outside Reiki will keep your mind and spirit balanced on the inside, promoting good health and well being.
Reiki is fast becoming the alternative therapy of choice for sports injuries as it helps to speed up the recovery times as well as improving concentration
Each session will last between 30 mins to an hour. As it is a relaxing process we will not be in a rush to complete the session, it is important that you are at ease.

Many people are practicing techniques to improve their health such as meditation, exercise and improved diet. As this is done, a deeper awareness often develops concerning the flow of subtle energies in and around the body and the connection between these subtle energies and one’s health. This developing awareness validates the ancient idea of ‘life force energy’ as the cause of health and its lack as the cause of illness. The existence of ‘life force energy’ and the necessity for it to flow freely in and around one’s body to maintain health has been studied and acknowledged by health care practitioners as well as scientists.

Our body is composed not only of physical elements such as muscles, bones, nerves, arteries, organs, glands, etc.; it also has a subtle energy system through which ‘life force energy’ flows. This subtle energy system is composed of energy ‘bodies’ which surround our physical body and assist us in processing our thoughts and emotions. The energy bodies have energy centres called chakras, which work somewhat like valves that allow life force to circulate through the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. We also have energy meridians and nadas. These are like rivers, or streams which carry our life force energy throughout our physical body, to nourish us and assist in balancing our body’s systems and functions.

Our physical body is alive because of the ‘life force energy’ that is flowing though it. If our ‘life force’ is low or blocked, we are more likely to get sick, but if it is high and free flowing, we more easily maintain health and a feeling of well-being. One thing that disrupts and weakens the flow of ‘life force energy’ is stress. Stress is often caused by conflicting thoughts and feelings that get lodged in one’s subtle energy system. These include fear, worry, doubt, anger, anxiety, etc. Medical research has determined that continual stress can block the body’s natural ability to repair, regenerate and protect itself. The American Institute of Stress estimates that 75%-95% of all visits to doctors are the results of reaction to stress. The effects of unreleased stress range from minor aches to major health concerns, such as heart disease, digestive disorders, respiratory and skin problems.

Reiki (ray-key) is a technique that aids the body in releasing stress and tension by creating deep relaxation. Because of this, Reiki promotes healing and health. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “the Wisdom of God or the Higher Power” and Ki which is means ‘life force energy.’ So Reiki means ‘spiritually guided life force energy.’ The Reiki system of healing is a technique for transmitting this subtle energy to yourself and others through the hands into the human energy system. Reiki restores energy balance and vitality by relieving the physical and emotional effects of unreleased stress. It gently and effectively opens blocked meridians, nadas and chakras, and clears the energy bodies, leaving one feeling relaxed and at peace.

Reiki can:

Reduce Stress
Accelerate healing
Increase your feeling of well being
Assist the body in cleansing toxins
Balance the flow of subtle energy by releasing blockages
Help the client contact the ‘healer within.’
A treatment feels like warm, gentle sunshine which flows through you, surrounds you and comforts you, treats the person’s body, emotions, mind and spirit as a whole. It is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.

The treatment  is powerful, yet wonderfully gentle and nurturing. During a treatment, the clients remain fully clothed. Reiki is an effective alternative, or complement to massage therapy. Reiki supports any medical, or supplemental healing methods a client may be using and is of growing interest to chiropractors, medical doctors, physiotherapists, psychotherapists, psychologists and hypnotherapists.

Reiki within the NHS

Reiki is used in within the NHS to compliment treatments, whilst it is important to note that it will not cure serious illness the benefits it brings to the patient can aid recovery. Cancer research UK also promotes Reiki as a way of complimenting traditional treatments.

Reiki for sports injuries

Reiki is a powerful alternative therapy which can speed up the healing process in sporting injuries. Whether it is Football, Golf, Tennis, Rugby, Cricket or Athletics Reiki can provide a safe and effective boost to getting you back into competitive form.
The treatment not only helps with healing but it also helps with concentration, relaxation and other mental issues making it ideal for improving sports performance. It may improve your best times by a small amount or it may help with concentration when taking a penalty, whatever the situation Reiki can give you the edge or advantage that you may be looking for. As it is completely natural and non invasive it won’t interfere with any other treatment that you may be receiving.
You may have never heard of Reiki before, but many professional athletes already incorporate Reiki into their health and training routines. Some famous examples include, Olympic double medalist Hayden Roulsten who, in 2006, was diagnosed with a rare heart disease that can cause sudden death. Considering retirement at just 25,  he was given hope through a friend and a chance meeting with a Reiki practitioner. A course of treatment helped him, against the odds, make a successful return to top level cycling. Since he started using Reiki, his heart problems have effectively resolved.  Another example, is pro American football player Charles Way of the New York Giants.  Way suffered from a chronic knee injury and even though he started off as a skeptic, he began receiving regular Reiki treatment and was amazed by the results. You can see his testimonial on You Tube.
PGA Golfers have turned to one particular Reiki practitioner, Jim Weathers, a former Green Beret, who uses Reiki among other therapies. He has treated a number of golfers over the years, including Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Jerry Kelly, and Ted Purdy. For 25 years, Weathers has been travelling the continent treating race car drivers, rodeo competitors, ultimate fighters and a myriad of other athletes. Many articles have been written about him, like this one from the New York Times.

Alternative therapies are becoming increasingly popular with athletes, both amateur and professional. Through alternative therapies such as Reiki and naturopathy, along with strength and flexibility training using yoga and Pilates, individual athletes and teams are now finding natural, safe, and legal ways to give them an edge in their chosen sport.

Reiki on animals

Animals of all kinds love Reiki and they respond really well to the healing energy. They are so intuitive and can tell that Reiki is there to try to help them. When performing reiki on animals I will visit you at your home or place of work as the animal normally responds best in their own environment. Most pets such as dogs and cats respond well as do horses.
